Macro-synthetic fibers have been a critical component in a system that’s helped solve a variety of industry challenges. The use of macro-synthetic fibers at a high dosage rate has allowed extended joint spacing beyond ACI recommendations. These fibers have produced impressive results, reducing and, in some cases, eliminating cracking. When cracks do occur, macro-synthetics help them remain tightly closed.
Despite all the benefits and wide range of solutions macro-synthetic fibers have provided, a common misconception is that they cannot be used in decorative applications. This project shows otherwise. At a 7.5-lb dosage rate of Forta Ferro, this [sq ft] office was polished. Joints were placed for aesthetics, and there are no random cracks or fiber showing at the surface of the slab.
