Blue Royal Dairy Farms poured a new feed storage slab in Reedsville, Wisconsin. The contractor, St. Louis Construction, sees the benefits with fiber reinforcement in large agricultural projects. The original design called for
#5 Rebar 10″ on center. With labor shortages and material delays, a conversion to FORTA Ferro was the clear choice.
GHD Engineering opted to utilize a 7.5-lb dosage of
FORTA Ferro on the 230,000 square-foot slab. Using macrosynthetic fibers was extremely efficient and beneficial for all involved. It helped keep the project on schedule, and provided cost savings over the originally-specified rebar.
