Brian Lapinga, owner of B & D Dairy, completed a 43,000 square foot addition to his existing bunker silo. Brian is a very progressive farmer, continuously seeking increased modernization in running his dairy. The dairy milks 4000 cows in a state-of-the-art, 80-head carousel milking parlor. Brian recognized the benefits of using Forta Ferro in his application, including e ciency of placement, acid resistance, no corrosion, and three-dimensional reinforcement located throughout every cubic inch of concrete. With the approval from the NRCS and DNR, St. Louis Construction placed the 43,000 ft2 in three placements. The largest joint-free sections measured 125’ x 125’, with a slab thickness of 6”, the largest slab allowed by spec in a single pour.
