A common misconception about macro-synthetic fibers is that they cannot be used in decorative applications. This project shows otherwise. At a 7.5-lb dosage rate of Forta Ferro, this concrete patio was stamped. Joints were placed for aesthetics, and there are no random cracks or fiber showing at the surface of the slab. Macro-synthetic fibers have been a critical component in systems that help solve a variety of industry challenges.
The use of macro-synthetic fibers at a high dosage rate has allowed extended joint spacing beyond ACI recommendations, which can be beneficial for decorative pattern design. These fibers have produced impressive results – reducing and, in some cases, eliminating cracking. When cracks do occur, macro-synthetics help them remain tightly closed.
